Adult Mentoring

WHO OUR adult MENTORING IS FOR

Our adult mentoring services support those aged 18 and above, who may be:

      • Leaving custody or transitioning from the criminal justice system

      • Care leavers

      • Experiencing challenges with employment, education or training

      • Experiencing emotional, behavioural or social challenges, such as problematic substance use

      • Lacking stable, positive adult relationships

      • Navigating complex family, community or life circumstances

Each adult mentoring referral is assessed individually to ensure mentoring is appropriate, safe and supportive.

oUR adult MENTORING APPROACH

Our trauma-informed mentoring approach is:

      • Safeguarding-led – clear boundaries, risk management and accountability

      • Relationship-based  – trust, consistency and mutual respect

      • Person-centred – shaped around the individual’s needs, voice and goals

      • Strengths-focused  – recognising potential, not deficits

All 1-1 mentoring sessions are structured, purposeful and delivered in line with safeguarding best practice.

How our adult mentoring supports positive change

Our adult mentoring services support individuals aged 18+ to:

      • Build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem

      • Develop decision-making, communication, and life skills

      • Navigate relationships, risk, and challenging circumstances

      • Explore personal goals, employment, education and positive pathways

      • Strengthen protective factors that support long-term stability

Our adult mentoring is not a replacement for statutory services or therapy, but works alongside existing support where appropriate.
